Adult Program

Introduction

The goal of the EODA Adult Program is to form and support a strong provincial team and bring home the Canada Cup. Membership is open to all Ontario residents within the EODA boundaries and has a fee of $35.00.

EODA’s provincial team is selected from the top eight male and female players and the top doubles team in the provincial championships held each year. Members of EODA qualify to play in the championships through two different avenues: participation in zone shoots or earning an exemption based on the previous year’s results.

Zone

Each season, members are eligible to play in five zone shoots. Members must play in the zone in which they currently reside. An exception can be made if the player is playing with a mixed zone partner from another EODA zone. In which case, both members of that team will play singles and doubles in one of their respective zones.

Participants must be members of the Eastern Ontario Darts Association. A $35 Membership can be purchased from the Zone Director at the first shoot in which they play.

If you receive a bye into the Provincials for singles and you're not playing mixed doubles in your zone, your membership is due by November 30th.

The cost is $15 per member per event, singles and mixed doubles. If you are uncertain regarding which zone you reside in, please contact the EODA Executive.

Zone & Championship Dates

The five zone shoots are regularly scheduled as follows; however, should scheduling conflicts arise, zone directors may have to change dates:

Zone Shoot 1: The Third Sunday in October
Zone Shoot 2: The Final Sunday in November
Zone Shoot 3: The Second Full Weekend Sunday in January
Zone Shoot 4: The First Sunday of February
Zone Shoot 5: The First Sunday of March

The top 40% of participants in a zone are invited to play in the provincial championships, and some are provided rooms at the event.

Exemptions

The following players are given exemptions based on previous year’s results:

1. The top eight players in each singles event from the previous year’s Provincial Championship.
2. The provincial mixed doubles champions from the previous season.
3. Zone Winners for singles from each of the previous year’s zone shoots.

Exempted players are still responsible for purchasing yearly memberships for EODA and will forfeit exempted status should they attempt to earn a purchased event room by participating in the zone events.
